The Ithaca Bakery is an entirely local, family-owned business that produces dozens of artisan breads and thousands of authentic New York-style bagels on a daily basis, many of them baked with organic flour and other organic ingredients. Every week, the bakery offers an ever changing menu—a wide selection of soups and international entrees, including many vegetarian and vegan choices. Cayuga Coffee is 100% Fair Trade, and almost all varieties are organic. Part of the electricity at the flagship store on Meadow St. is drawn from a solar array on the roof, the largest privately owned solara electric installation in Tompkins County. The kitchen and bakery participates in the local large-scale composting program. In addition, metal cutlery, corn-based cold cups, and recyclable/biodegradable plates and bowls are available for customer use, with recycling bins available in all stores.
